On this special on the road edition of Book Club for Kids from the Colorado Book Festival, a quintet of readers from the Denver area discuss Denise Vega's novel "Click Here: To Find Out How I Survived Seventh Grade." Our celebrity reader is Colorado education legend Anna Jo Haynes.

We talk about grandparents and circus folks...and elephants. Our book is called "One Amazing Elephant" by Linda Oatman High. Our readers Akshaj, Ishnoor, and Medha from Virginia have some firsthand experience with elephants (did you know that elephants smell like hay?) Our celebrity reader is actress Holly Vagley. Writer Oatman High says the idea for the story came from her late grandmother...after she was dead. Taped live at Virginia's 2017 Fall for the Book Festival.

It was a rainy, muddy, fabulous day at the Gaithersburg Book Festival where this group of middle school students from Maryland discussed whether they'd like living on Alcatraz and if it's better to be the oldest or youngest in the family. Gennifer Choldenko answers their questions about researching the book. NPR newscaster Jack Speer is celebrity reader. Past Book Club for Kids guests drop by as well. Kitty Felde is host.
